CMLL Heavyweight Champion Ultimo Guerrero said that he is getting tired of defending his title against guys who have to gain weight to face him so he wants to make his next defense against a real big man such as “Strongman” Jon Anderson. UG said that it would be a great risk to defend his title against him because he could lose but a win over the big Strongman is worth the risk. UG said that he would use his cunning ability and quickness to take down the big man then put him away with his technique.
CMLL announced yesterday some details regarding the Forjando del Idolo tournament they are running the next couple of months and here are the dates they are running matches.
Block Matches: 4/11 – 5/8 split over Mondays at Puebla and Fridays/Sundays at Arena Mexico
Quarterfinals: 5/9 – 5/10 at Puebla & Arena Mexico
Semifinals: 5/16 at Arena Mexico
Finals: 5/20 at Arena Mexico
Here are the groups that are taking part of the tournament
Grupo Alpha led by Negro Casas: Diamante/Hijo del Signo/Hombre Bala Jr./Puma King
Grupo Bravo led by Ultimo Guerrero: Angel de Oro/Escorpion/Palacio Negro/Rey Cometa
Grupo Charly led by Shocker: Delta/Dragon Lee/Guerrero Maya Jr./Metal Blanco
Grupo Delta led by Blue Panther: Angel de Plata/Fuego/Magnus/Polvora
The rules are that you get 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw plus you get an extra point if you are voted the favorite wrestler of the week by the fans. All matches will be 1 fall with a 15:00 time limit.

2. Angel de Plata/Pegasso/Rey Cometa defeated Arkangel de la Muerte/Escandalo/Nitro
3. Lightning Match: Hijo del Signo beat Guerrero Maya Jr. using the ropes.
4. Misterioso II/Shigeo Okumura/Polvora defeated Metro/Stuka/Valiente
5. Rush/La Sombra/”Strongman” Jon Anderson beat Atlantis (subbing for Mr. Niebla)/Hirooki Goto/Negro Casas
6. Torneo Gran Alternativa – Finals: Ultimo Guerrero & Escorpion defeated Mascara Dorada & Metal Blanco – The big story here was that a fan tried to jump in the ring after the match but security took care of him.
