Averno Signs With WWE !

Super Luchas reported today that Averno has signed a deal with WWE and would be dropping his mask against La Mascara on 6/17 at Arena Mexico. Averno’s name has been linked to WWE since Sin Cara signed and was even one of the guys he was working against in his highlight video before he debuted plus he tried out with him last October. The deal didn’t get done though until recently when WWE reps asked Sin Cara who would he like to have as an opponent since most of the WWE guys haven’t adapted to him yet so he suggested his natural rival and friend Averno. Averno is being rumored to be coming in as an unmasked heel but that can change easily but this is a huge blow to CMLL as Averno has been right up there with Ultimo Guerrero as the lead rudos. The scuttlebutt is that Averno hasn’t told CMLL yet that he was leaving only that he wanted to lose his mask and if they didn’t oblige him then he would lose it on an independent show. The political environment in the promotion right now is pretty shaky and this will only serve to make it more uneasy for everyone. With this coming out in the media in Mexico, the chance of CMLL changing their minds regarding the mask match is likely and could lead to chaos but we will see.

4. Scramble Match: Micke Segura was the winner. Other participants: Naruto/Miedo/Terror/Zeitan/Angel Extremo/Ninja de Fuego/Heavy Boy/Epidemia/Perico who was attacked by Mad Man Pondo before coming to the ring.
5. 4 Way Dance por el IWL Trios Titles: Los Porros (Angel o Demonio/Leon Rojo/Ovett) defeated Dark Sons (Centinela/Ojo Diabolico/Ultimo Vampiro), Los Oficiales (AK-47/Fierro/911), & La Secta Negra (Carta Brava Jr./Cerebro Negro/Eterno) when Angel pinned Cerebro Negro to retain their titles. Pondo came back out after this match and destroyed Angel o Deomino & Tony Rivera who tried to make the save and he was stretchered out.
6. Extreme Tiger/El Mesias/Zumbi beat Fantasma de la Opera/Joe Lider/Ultimo Gladiador and after the match Zumbi called out IWL champion Heddi Karouhi who came out with Zumbi challenging him to a Vale Tudo contra Capoiera match for the title. Heddi would attack him and then accepted his challenge.

3. Avisman beat Freelance after fouling and pinning him.
4. Los Cerebros Terribles (Black Terry/Cerebro Negro/Dr. Cerebro) battled Los Oficiales (AK-47/Fierro/911) to a double countout as everyone was brawling on the floor.
5. Octagon/Veneno/Octagoncito defeated Damian 666/Bestia 666/Mini Psicosis by DQ when Bestia fouled Veneno.

6. Steel Cage Match where the loser gets shaved or unmasked: Psycho Clown left Super Crazy in the cage after he gave him a spinebuster through a table and he was shaved. Order of Elimination: Perro Aguayo Jr./Murder Clown/Damian 666/Monster Clown/Psycho Clown. The match started outside the cage where they used some weapons before bringing it to the cage.
