NEWSA press release was sent out today saying that El Mesias was kidnapped on Sunday as he was flying from Mexico City for Monterrey where he was booked for Arena Solidaridad. Mesias’ wife reported it to AAA offices saying that before they were to board their flight, he left to take a smoke and when he went outside, he was abducted where he was attacked and then left him injured but there is nothing on when he was released. AAA mentioned that they didn’t know how serious his condition is but would report it soon. AAA has denied it sent such a press release but didn’t deny this happened but what we do know is that Mesias didn’t work the Solidaridad show against L.A. Par-K which pissed off the fans and forced the promoter to give refunds. The promoter said that he was told that Mesias was missing and they found his luggage at the airport but was never told anything else. Then according to someone who works security at the airport in Mexico City there was no report of anything like that happening and the place is secured pretty tight so something like that would’ve been known.
So finally this afternoon El Mesias dispelled the rumors saying that he was never kidnapped or attacked but he had some issues coming in from Cancun to Mexico City where he was connecting to Monterrey forcing him to miss the show and that his wife did speak with AAA officials though. AAA Executive Vice President Dorian Roldan co-signed Mesias on Twitter saying that the story was false and nothing of the sort happened. Someone went to a lot of trouble trying to explain Mesias not being in Monterrey.
Aero Star & Jack Evans are heading to NOAH to work their Jr. Heavyweight tag team tournament from 7/16 to 7/30 but the most interesting team in the tournament to me is Ricky Marvin teaming with his brother Rocky Marvin who “allegedly” is working as the new Mini Histeria in AAA.
In my favorite story of the day, WWE failed to patent the Sin Cara name in Mexico so CMLL decided to it instead.
