There has been a brewing verbal war between the Chilanga Mask promotion and Arkangel de la Muerte who was working as the liason between them & EMLL in getting talent for their shows. It all started when Rey Cometa & Escandalo were injured on a previous show and Chilanga Mask supposedly didn’t help them out in their bills so when it came time for the next show that was supposed to take place next Sunday, EMLL refused to send talent. Chilanga Mask then went and publically bashed Arkangel for this who fired back saying that just because EMLL pulled 4 guys from working the show shouldn’t mean that the promotion should cancel the show outright and it’s not their fault.
Senator Diva Hadamira Gestelum Bajo who represents the state of Sinaloa (Culiacan & Mazatlan) is demanding that the Mexican government investigate the current working conditions of Lucha Libre saying that the promotions are unfairly treating their employees. She said that the talent is currently classified as independent contractors but if they want to work a show that the promotion doesn’t want them to work then they must either cancel the booking or the promotion will punish them which is unfair. The story has gotten some fairly major press around the country and the fact that it’s not the wrestlers making the case but a politician makes this different than what we have seen over the years in the United States when this issue has come up.

5. Averno/Chessman/Pentagon Jr. beat Cibernetico/Fenix/Psycho Clown – Averno made his debut here and Psycho did double duty. Averno pinned Fenix clean and afterwards Mistico’s theme music played and a man in all white came out and attacked La Sociedad using moves that shockingly looked like Mistico’s moves.
