NOTICIASEMLL is getting back on TV in Mexico as the Friday night Arena Mexico shows will be airing on the Televisa Deportes Network starting in the middle of February. These are the same shows that air on TV Azteca in the United States but now they are back on a good TV station in Mexico again.
Sony Pictures Television announced yesterday that they are going to co-produce a TV series based on the life of Alejandro Munoz Moreno or better known as Blue Demon chronicling his rise from being born into poverty to becoming one of the biggest legends in the history of Lucha Libre. The series will be comprised of 65 episodes lasting an hour each and will be transmitted in Latin America through multiple platforms owned by Televisa and jointly across the world with SPT. The series production will start in April where they will tape around Mexico City. Angélica Guerra who is the Senior Vice-President of Production in Latin programming for SPT said that this series will provide the public with an intimate look at one of the most recognized legends of Lucha Libre while telling an exciting story full of adrenaline, challenges, setbacks, and triumphs which will allow the viewer to delve into a universe that very few people know. She went on to say there is a growing demand in Latin America for stories about real people and events which started in Colombia and now has been extended to Mexico. This series will be the 3rd of it's sort as they have already done smaller scale specials on El Dandy & Señorita Pólvora.
The series starts in Mexican State of Nuevo Leon where a teenage Moreno son of farmers and the 5th of 12 brothers dreams of a better life beyond the limits of his small hometown. Then years later, after he goes to live with his uncle and working for the national railways in Monterrey, he comes into contact with famous luchadore Ignacio Vera and becomes highly curious of Lucha Libre. Moreno then starts an adventure that will be transformed into an incredible journey, conquering his fears and facing personal demons, to eventually become one of the most admired masked men in history. The series will be directed by Mauricio Cruz with a writing staff consisting of Carlos Algara, Alejandro Martinez, Fernando Abrego, Luis Guerrero, Larissa Andrade & Rodrigo Ordóñez. The executive producers of the show will be Daniel Ucros & Juan Pablo Posada.
Blue Demon Jr. went on Twitter yesterday though and said that none of the producers of the series ever got in touch with him on this project and said that his lawyers are looking into the situation.
Super Comando who recently said that he was taking time away from wrestling showed up this weekend as part of the United States tour that is running with Hijo del Huracan Ramirez and Hijo del Fishman among others are headlining.
